WA 2023 Recreation and Conservation Plan
This strategic plan guides the investment of public funds and needed to be brought to life for the public. That included compliance with ADA visual accessibility standards for those with color blindness and who use screen readers. We created a visual map of assets and then began to build out a 100+ pages of charts, graphs, stats and links to reports. The end book was printed on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified sustainably sourced paper and distributed digitally to the public.

The 2023 Washington State Recreation and Conservation Plan
The 2023 Washington State Recreation and Conservation Plan is a five-year strategic plan that guides nearly $175 million in annual investments of state and federal grant funds to conserve public conserve public lands and develop outdoor recreation facilities throughout Washington State.
Ryan developed conceptual designs, listened to feedback from our executive and communications team, provided communication strategy advice using visual elements from the plan, and produced an engaging and visually compelling document to share with our governing board, policy makers, and the public. His eye for design and exacting standards for visual production far exceeded our expectations, and we couldn’t be happier with the final publication.
